Plies Gives Back...

We often hear about what rappers do negative wise, but hadley hear about what they do to better the community and peoples lives. One such rapper is Piles he is often critized from his higly sexually explict lyric in songs such as "Becky" and "Bust it Baby." However Plies also gives back to the community in ways that I have not seem many rappers do. He even invited a 11 year old girl up on the stage at one of his concets and paid her 1,000 to leave his concert. Meaning that he knows that his lyrics are no where near suitaible for children's ears.

At his lastest concert his chariable efforts went way above and beyond what I have ever seen any rapper do. He invited another young lady up on the stage who was a serior in high school. He surprised her and the crowd with the announcement that he will be paying for her College tuition. WOW... Peep the two videos below....

Black Films in America

Below is a Spike Lee interview where he discusses the reality of Black films in America:




In my household growing up watching black films was a form of supporting our race in culture. However looking back at it now that I am much older I have come to realize that it's not that much support if you are in turn perpetuating a cycle of thought about African Americans. Movies like "Miracle at St. Anna" and "Malcolm X" had history behind them they told the story of the truth of the African American struggle. Specifically, "Miracle at St. Anna" provided light to the fact that African American fought and risk their lives in the wars for this country. You have other movies like "Diary of a mad Black Woman" that are in their purest form comedies and bring in high rating and recognition for African American writers, Directors, and Producers. Yet they also shred down the the Africa America image. An image that countless Civil Rights protest have struggled to obtain.

Over the holiday weekend Trey Songs, Keri Hilson and Usher got together to perform the remix to Invented Sex at Jingle Bash. Let me just say that if I didn't know that Keri Hilson had a Man thing (lol) I would so think that her and Trey had a thing for each other. Do you not see the chemistry. Also she is starring as the lead girl in his next video "Yo Side of the Bed". All I'm saying is I wouldn't be the least surprised if there are rumors of them hooking up.... (I would be sad if that happens thou Kerri is my Bitch :P lol)

When I frist saw the tweets and Twit Pics from Lil Duval from jail I swore up and down that it was another joke of his. That is until his mug shot was relesed. I will admit that I'm only posting this cause his mug shot is priceless!!!

ABC News Special On Black Woman

So I admit when I saw that ABC was doing a special on why Black female in America are not married I automatically gagged (lol over kill I know). Why is it that Black woman cont. to play the victim. And I know alot of people might not agree with me on this one but I can't understand why Black woman cont to do this. So there are only, as the special reports, half as many black man available for Black woman to date. But why do we have to date Black Men. I think that this is our biggest fumbble. The world is populated with so many people of different race and ethicity so why is it that we feel that we have to date Black Men? When you think about the entertainment buizness there are so many Black actors and althes that have White, Asian, and Latino woman as their spouses. How many Black Actresses other than Halle Berry have married outside of their race? Its funny that when other Black men talk about Black woman they all say the same thing, number one on the list is that as Black woman, especially educated and successful, we tend to set too high of standards, some that not even the brightest most successful man could reach.

I'm posting these two video's because the ABC special shows five very successful woman with ages ranging from late 20's to early 40's and their reasons of why they have not found Mr. Right. Many of their reason to me are not reason at all. But I will leave that up to you to be the judge. The second video is one that I found on YouTube a long time ago where a Black female explain how there are many males out here for Black woman but you have to be ready to accept and have an open mind. I love her spin on the issue and think that these woman (in the ABC special) should definetly watch.

So for months there have been speculations flying around that Lady Gaga might have a penis. Now I for one think that its not true. Or at least I thought that until I watched this video.... :0

Might Not be Wedding Bliss for Mary J After All....

Mary J. Blige attended her album release party on Dec. 22nd at M2 and it seems that old habits got the best of her. Several eye witness reported to have seen Mary and her husband (Kendu) of six years in an altercation where Mary slapped or punched him in the face. Mary's camp have reported that there was indeed an alltercation at the club involving Kabdu. Yet they claim that it was Kendu and her brother who were fighting and she got in the middle.

My Thoughts:

I don't have many thoughts of this issue seeing how the details are very limited. However, I find this to be quite interesting seeings how Mary has come from a history of abuse and she is now the abuser. The video doesn't show much but it does seem like she swung on someone.... Sidenote wonder how their holiday's were. :P

Popular Reggae Artist Buju Banton Arrested

Dec. 10th Buju Banton whose real name is Mark Anthony Myrie was arrested for allegedly attepting to distribute, more than 5 kilograms of cocaine. He was caught in Miami, FL and was booked with another unidentified man after a surveillance camera allegedly caught them in the process of a drug transaction. If convicted of the charges Buju can face up to 20 years in prison. No further information has been released regarding the case.


My thoughts:
Its hard to image that a person who is so in tune with the lord and helping his people would want to hurt them. Cocaine is a powerfully addictive stimulant that directly affects the brain. Cocaine is not a new drug. In fact, it is one of the oldest known drugs. The pure chemical, cocaine hydrochloride, has been an abused substance for more than 100 years, and coca leaves, the source of cocaine, have been ingested for thousands of years. This drug in any form has been known to cause lethal damage to millions of peoples lives not just by its abusers but also those who come in daily contact with the people who use the Drug. So for a man such as Buju who preaches the savior of his people if these allegations are in fact true I now see him in a whole new light. Based on the video above he might be looking at a long fight on trying to prove his innocence. But really who tries to bring anything into Miami?? :-/
